Solna, Sverige

The role

The successful candidate will work with development and implementation of our nanoparticle (NP) technology into end-product molecular diagnostics applications. We work in a multidisciplinary environment where chemistry, physics, biology, fluidics, and software meet. You will handle the interface between nanoparticle design and molecular diagnostic applications. By defining application opportunities and developing assay workflows you will both work with molecular biology, assay development and automation, as well as with the nanoparticles for their successful implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, organize, and report research

  • Develop & optimize assays for multiplexed detection of biomolecules

  • In a diligent, meticulous, and structured way handle large volumes of samples for development and characterization

  • Organize data & results in a structured way

  • Establish collaborations and early customers (academia and industry)

Skills & Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with high levels of energy and a solution-oriented mind-set with background in molecular diagnostics and/or spatial biology. The right person is an initiative taker with high standards, keen attention to detail and meticulous in design, experimental execution and documentation. You have a hands-on approach and enjoy spending a significant time in the lab. The candidate fits into a start-up environment by being flexible and seeks to find efficient ways to reach goals and milestones. You have:

  • PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular diagnostics or related fields

  • Experience with bioassays to detect proteins and nucleic acids (e.g. PCR, ELISA, hybridization assays, FISH etc.)

  • Experience with fluorescence microscopy and image analysis is highly regarded

  • Experience with nucleic amplification methods. In particular, experience with isothermal amplification methods such as rolling-circle amplification is highly regarded.

  • Experience with multiplexed detection of biomarkers (using methods and systems such as Luminex, Nanostring, Olink etc)

  • Strong laboratory skills and hands-on approach

  • Fluent in English with strong communication and presentation skills

  • Organized, meticulous, detail-oriented and data driven mindset is highly regarded
